Melbourne Australia - A great place for a long weekend...or week away - an amazing, entertaining city - Chocolate Capital of Australia!

Union Square, Melbourne - the centre of it all.

Melbourne Architecture is varied. The old, the new and the unique stand side by side.

Evening skyline from the Yarra River

The magnificent facade of Flinders Street Station

Town Hall, lit up and decorated for the Comedy Festival

The amazing art deco Manchester Unity Building (below).....exterior followed by 2 interior shots.

Two of the most popular forms of transport. The City Circle Tram and the Horse and Buggies.

Great to look at but it must be hot work carting touristsday after day.

Melbourne is the Chocolate Capital of Australia. A fantastic place for an indulgent hot chocolate....velvet all the way down.....

Street performers...good, bad and indifferent.......but always entertaining...are everywhere.

I saw these boys play several times during my stay in Melbourne. Very easy to stop and listen to and always attracted a big crowd. Their CD is great.

Even statues are performers in Melbourne.
It was comedy week after all!

Look Ma, no hands!
A novel way to slice bread!

Lovely girl, very flexible. She was either looking for
something important or she thinks it's the end
of the World and she's trying to kiss her A$$ goodbye!
Like I said....Comedy Week!

Entertaining street performer....for the right
reasons. Good music and vocals.
.........

Modern and traditional music on the streets of Melbourne.

Call it graffiti or street art.....it's everywhere in Melbournes alleys and laneways.

More traditional art on the streets.......this huge mosaic.

Temporary chalk street art.

Lots of places to eat on and off the beaten track. The alleys and laneways come alive at night.

More indulgence at the Hopetoun Tearooms.
What a selection!
A place to rest at Queen Victoria Market.

Making use of the free wifi in Union Square
The colourful bathing cabins at Brighton Beach.

Humans like chameleons - colours matching their surroundings!

A very popular place for tourists to take photos.

Luna Park at nearby St Kilda's Beach

The sun, sea, sand and sunbathers on St Kilda's Beach.

Melbourne skyline as viewed from the pier at St. Kilda's.

St Kilda's pier. The original building burned down and was replaced by an identical copy.

Peaceful stroll at St Kilda's.

The end is not only nigh....... neigh! It's here.
I hope you enjoyed my look around Melbourne.
